They call it social marketing

Every once in a while I'll come across a news article that I just don't know how to respond to. The latest instance of this phenomenon was triggered by an article at Network World discussing Cisco's latest "social marketing" gimmick: a $10k video game contest where you compete by flying an ASR-1000. Yes, flying.

The game itself is rather frustrating. While the ASR may have impressive throughput it handles like a bumper car on ice. But if you like the challenge of chasing down multicolored dots in exchange for a sales pitch, or just feel like slacking off at work, get started here.
