QoS cheat sheet

By stretch | Monday, May 12, 2008 at 1:54 p.m. UTC

This one took a while to come up with, but I think I finally managed to include all of the right information. Taken from the bulk of the Cisco Press CCNP ONT study guide, I hope the information provided here portrays an accurate account of the different QoS markings, terminology, and queuing methods.

UPDATE: Corrected an error listing CQ as the default queuing method for interfaces slower than 2 Mbps (it should be WFQ). Thanks to Chris Noon for catching this!

Great doc! The Queueing comparison chart needs to be corrected. Default on interfaces states CQ on <= 2 Mbps.

Great cheat sheet, 1 minor typo in the Terminology section.

Shaping ยท Similar to POLICING but buffers excess traffic for delayed transmission; makes more efficient use of bandwidth but introduces a delay
