Multiprotocol BGP

MP-BGP is referred to as Multiprotocol BGP, which is the extension of Border Gateway Protocol(BGP). It enable to advertise multiple address families via a BGP session, whereas the BGP allows only the IPv4 address family routes to be advertised.

The address family could be (IPv4, IPv6 & Layer-2, Layer-3 VPNs routes(NLRIs) & Multicast routes.
