Greetings to all, I was wondering if anyone was using a QOS simulator? Here is our situation, I have 22 sites with a dual uplinked head end to the MPLS cloud. It's pretty basic, but we're not doing any of the MPLS hocus-pokus at our edge. We are simply matching our QOS policies to that of our provider, but we would like to test the "What if..." Is there some software, a good site or lab setup (including what gear is being used) that someone can point me in? Thanks, Tom |

Hi there, In the Cisco Networking Academy program, we use Cisco's Pagent IOS image which contains TGN (a traffic generator) and NQR (a traffic statistics analyzer). The only problem is I believe that the Pagent image is only available (leagally) to Network Acadamies and Cisco employees, but you can look into it. Josh |

I've had what joshlowe says on the place I used to train for ccnp, you can get the special IOS but the license is based on the serial number of the router. But you can do everything with iperf application, is freeware and open source, take a look http://sourceforge.net/projects/iperf/ Kind regards |

I used the Colasoft Packet Builder application whilst studying for the ONT exam. I found that I could easily import packet captures from wireshark and re-run them through my lab using the packet builder application. (Took a bit of tweaking MAC addresses etc) Its free and available at : http://www.colasoft.com/packet_builder/ Cheers Jonathan |
