Problem : No physical access to switchs and CDP is turned off. We have enable access, but can't change anything on the switches. We need make a physical topology drawing.

Typically, you could just find out where everything is connected via sh cdp neigh, but its turned off. We've come up with following the spanning tree root, but its a long and combersome processes. Does anyone have a better solution ?

Thanks!

Look at the number of MAC addresses on ports, that might help. Following STP root path is a good idea too.

Just thinking out loud here but could you go something like

'sh mac address-table' then look up the cisco specific mac address prefixes and filter for those?

Any snmp access? If you can capture traffic and there is any snmp flying around, you could pick out the OID's for Cisco gear with some wireshark filters.
