Hello it has happened to me the last 3 times I connected to the lab(yesterday the last time). As soon as I click paste not only the connection to the R&S is lost but also my broadband connection goes down !I have been using the lab regularly for months and this is totally new and a big time waster.I have made no changes on my box so I wonder if something has changed from the lab point of view. (security ?) Thanks in advance for any help.I use all the 10 devices and writing all the basic configuration in ,on top of reloading them(yes very often is needed)eats up quite a bit of lab time. |

Thanks the cause remains a mistery, but I switched to Putty SSH instead of telnet and have no problems with it. |

Interesting, I have same symtoms pasting in my school lab. All ip access is hosed until the PC is rebooted. Then every thing is fine. I used to do Hyperterm and paste into it. A full 1-3 kb character paste would freeze up ip totally. Tiny pastes of up to 3-10 lines at at time was ok. I switched to telnet via windows term. I got a slightly less sever limit. It still would trash the IP if I attempted to paste in the whole config file in one go. Is it because paste can overwhelm buffers somewhere and hose up the IP stack to totally freeze it? Note: all within the school. No public internet 'cloud' in the mix. |

I've seen issues with hyperterm before. You might have to adjust the line delay. I saw this someplace. Don't remember if that's what I did in the past or not but it might help. try changing ASCII set up(increasing line delay). You can do this under File > properties > settings > ASCII setup |

Reduce the amount of text that you are pasting into the CLI an one time. Setting up my CCIE labs on my personal equipment does the same thing... Your are essentially overloading the buffer's.. for interface in some labs I have 200 loopback interfaces and I have to paste them in sections along with the other portions of the lab. This happens in all the Terminal Emulators I use... SecureCRT, ProComm, Zoc "hyper-what"... Oops Sorry to rehash what InHisName already pointed out...but since I already typed all of this... It's going in anyways. |
