In months to come I'm planning on preparing for my CCSP, something my school doesn't have hardware for. I understand this is going to get pricey, but I'm wondering what I might need to best prepare for the CCSP. Would an ASA 5505 work fine? Would I need more than one? Suggestions or recommendations? Thanks! |

You could emulate ASA hardware using GNS3 and qemu for ASA related stuff.Take a look at the ASA Project at http://asa_project.gromnet.net/ |

You can simply download it from Cisco if you have a CCO login / valid SMARTnet contract(s). |

I'm just a student, I have passed my CCNA and currently working towards CCNP. I am registered on Cisco's website and when I log in it calls me a Registered Guest user. Is this sufficient to download IOS? I can't seem to find where to download from. Thanks for the help. |

No, this is not sufficient, you have to have a service contract, a registered partnership, or CCIE. Otherwise, you will not be able to download the IOS from cisco website. |

To answer your question you need to buy the ASA image or have access to an already purchased one... |
