Hey Stretch, I really love the new site. The information you provide has been a vital component of my continued studies as an aspiring Cisco Network Engineer. I have decided to focus on the Voice track for my career path and if you have the experience with any of the voice products, then I would like to request a cheat sheet for configuration of Call Manager or Call Manager Express, as well as Unity VM on both platforms. As with configuring any other services on routers, the Voice service has several steps that a cheat sheet in this area would be highly beneficial to any voice engineer as a learning tool or quick reference. Thanks in advance, and please keep up the good work.

PS. Since this is a forum, If anybody out there has some helpful tips that they could share pertaining to configuration or troubleshooting, That would be awesome. I would like to share that the one of the reference sites I use for Voice is Blindhog.net which has helpful video tutorials for basic setup and configuration of Cisco Call Manager.

Sincerely, Frank Arrasmith CCNA-Voice 2009

I second this request. It would be very helpful to have a Cisco Voice cheat sheet, especially for the CUCME, for which there are a large number of CLI commands.

A few things that would be useful would be: including initial steps needed to get a new installation up and running and a sample dial-peer config. Also, commands to configure ephones and ephone-dns from the CLI, including available options. I've included a few to get started, although I'm sure I've left a few things out.

CUCME Implementation Steps:

  1. Configure TFTP server.
    a. tftp-server flash: {filename}
    ie. router(config)# tftp-server flash:SCCP41.8-4-3S.loads

  2. Enable telephony service.
    a. router(config)# telephony-service
    b. router(config-telephony)# max-ephone {number}
    c. router(config-telephony)# max-dn {number}

  3. Associate firmware with phone models:
    a. router(config-telephony)# load {phone model} {firmware-file}
    ie. router(config-telephony)# load 7941 SCCP41.8-4-3S

  4. Congifure source IP and port.
    a. router(config-telephony)# ip source-address {ip address} port {port #}
    ie. router(config-telephony)# ip source-address 10.10.10.1 port 2000

Sample North American PSTN Dial-Peer Config:
Pattern: Description:
[2-9]...... Used for 7-digit dialing areas
[2-9]..[2-9]...... Used for 10-digit dialing areas
1[2-9]..[2-9]...... Used for 11-digit long distance dialing
[469]11 Used for service numbers, such as 411,611, and 911
011T Used for international dialing

What would you guys like to see in a CUCM and Unity Cheatsheet? Currently I'm thinking: - H.323 Gateway Cheatsheet - MGCP Gateway Cheatsheet - SRST Cheatsheet - CSS/Partitions/Call Routing Cheatsheet - Unity Mailboxes and Call Handlers

Thanks, jamdatadude

I would also like to see a cheat sheet for this. i deal a lot with CUCM and most has been learned on the fly. Having some good reference materials would make some tasks easier :)

Hi,

I was also waiting for this ... but it looks like Jermy is not really into voice ... I made the first CUCME cheatsheet myself ... there will also be a CUCM / Unity / Unity Express / Presentation Server Cheat sheet available very soon

For now the CUMCE cheat sheet can be found here: http://blog.i-1.nl

The direct link for the CUCME cheatsheet is: http://blog.i-1.nl/wp-content/plugins/download-monitor/download.php?id=3
