Hi Stretch Wondering if you have anything around the best practise of Virtualisation, the use of the Nexus 1000 and Nexus 5000 in the Datacentre. Also whether you have anything coming up on VDI from the branch and is there anything that can be done with enhancing the RDP stream for VDI, Thoughts? Thanks Pat |

I'm afraid experimenting with the Nexus line is a bit out of my budget at the moment, unless anyone wants to loan me one. :) I did do this post about the Nexus 5000 last year though. |

Stretch, wish I was in a position to send you a few through the post, bit expensive from NZ. Thanks for the update from your previous post. Thanks Pat. |

I will start posting on this in the wiki. I recently finished my second install of the Nexus 7,5,2K solutions, and have had to learn alot the painful way. So check the wiki over the next week. |

I'm scoping a project that will possibly involve a Nexus 7000 and have a question that I so far cannot find a definitive answer for (the NX-OS docs seem to still be in "beta"). Does NX-OS support the command "ip tcp adjust-mss" on L3 interfaces, and if so, does this have any bearing on CEF? A colleague told me that tcp adjust-mss used to have to bypass CEF in the dark old days (I can neither confirm nor deny this). Since MSS is advertised in the initial SYN (eg. only at the start of a TCP connection), I don't see that this would be a problem for CEF, since it will do a FIB lookup at the start of a new flow anyway. |
