I have an issue. I have two 1841 routers that will not save the config. It was really nice today when I was configuring a site to site VPN, staged it, treked over to the other building in the rain.... and then powered the router up to find the config did not save. I think when it boots up, I remember seeing something about archive config. And then it asks if I want to config the router.

Anyone have a solution to this?

I have the one router up, and it's working fine, but if it reboots it'll go back to a blank config.

ok, I found the solution. The routers were left in password recovery mode of 0x2142. Changing it to the proper 0x2102 fixed this mess. I hope this will save others who come across this problem.
