I can’t figure out how to convert my Cisco 7940 IP phone (eBay) from SIP to SCCP. Does anyone out there know how to do this?

I have CME 4.1 running with other 7940s using SCCP. They register and make calls just fine.

Currently the 7940 has SIP version 7.4 running POS3-07-4-00. I want to convert the phone to use SCCP load P00308010200 which is on my CME router’s flash.

I don’t have the full blown Call Manager to make this conversion. I must use TFTP or the TFTP and flash on my CME router.

I have seen documentation on Google, but I have had no luck so far with any of it.

Anyway if I do figure it out I will post my solution as a reply to this thread.

I figure this must be a common problem because so many people buy IP phones on eBay.

You just need the three firmware files not the full call manager.

I already have the Skinny SCCP firmware from that site on my CME. The files are P00308010200.

I know this firmware is setup correctly because my SCCP phones are using with no problems.

My problem is getting this firmware onto my cisco 7940 SIP phone.
