So it looks like they're revising the CCNP track. I think this is official.

Interesting how it is only going to be 3 exams now with no security, voice, or wireless.

ROUTE, SWITCH, and TSHOOT

I'm glad they are grandfathering in the core exams (BSCI and BCMSN). I had a friend take the BCMSN and pass in November only to find out in December that they were making a change.

Was definitely time for a change though. Been about what... 3 years since the last revision?

Will be looking forward to the material when it's released as I'm going towards this track. I wanted to go into CCIP since I work in the provider end but it has been recommended to go CCNP first to learn the core competencies.

Hello, so... do you think this is better? QoS and mpls are required for CCIE R&S, now we don't have wifi (thank god), but we've also lost dsl config and security stuff from the actual ccnp.

Not all is good I think

It is great, actually they are making the right choices since CCNP is the preliminary study or the foundation for the CCIE.

As they changed the CCIE track, they accordingly changed the CCNP track. Now CCIE track contains more troubleshooting, and more details than the previous one.

I like what Cisco does with its tracks.

I think the main driver behind updating the CCNP certs is the CCNA specializations. Now that you can earn CCNA Voice, CCNA Wireless, and CCNA Security, it seems redundant to also focus on these topics in the CCNP certification. The majority of what is being removed is voice, wireless and security (and QoS of course).

Looks like I sat for my CCNA at the right time. Looking forward for the new CCNP track :)

Well thats great, seeing how I just got my CCNP 2 weeks ago. Could've saved time and money with only 3 tests instead of the 4. Oh well.

I agree with removing the QoS, PPPoE/PPPoA, MPLS and some of the wireless, but they should not remove the security/IPSec section. If you don't know IPsec, you shouldn't be a CCNP. IMO.

Is ISIS removed???? I guess for security they want us to take CCNA security ...

Yeah ISIS was removed, I'm guessing cause it's covered in CCIP. There should be IPSec I guess cause VPN is covered. Looking forward to purchase the materials. I'm sure there's some security aspects being covered, just not in-depth.

The TSHOOT looks badass.
