Headed to North Carolina

By stretch | Monday, August 27, 2012 at 12:08 a.m. UTC

So, I've been pretty quiet lately. My day job has kept me quite busy, but much of my time has also been consumed preparing to relocate. As it turns out, my wife and I will be moving to the Raleigh-Durham/Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina in early October. We're both very excited!

I apologize that I don't have any more noteworthy material for you today. I just wanted to let everyone know why I've been absent from their RSS feeds this month. As a consolation, please accept this photo of me standing next to the sign outside my new neighbor's place.

(To clarify, I will not be working at Cisco. I will continue to work for my current employer out of our North Carolina office.)

If you haven't already you will have reverse sticker shock from moving out of the DC area.

Congrats on the move. Currently down in Fayetteville myself, definitely a reverse sticker shock when compared to VA/MD/DC area as mentioned above, lol.

good luck on the move, the Triad is a nice area. BTW I'd certainly be interested in a networking monthly meet up in the RTP area. I was interested in the one you started up in VA but obviously would be quite a haul each trip; I'm just to the west of RTP in Greensboro. Welcome!

Congrats on the move! I'm sure you'll love the area. Strangely enough, you're taking the opposite path as me; I moved from Raleigh to NoVa in 07'. I think you've got the order right, though - would love to get back down there again!

Welcome to the area. If you need guided tours let anyone of us know. Also if Cisco is going to be your neighbor where you are going to be working you must be working for either NetApp or Credit Suisse. Best of luck to you on your move.

Based on your excitement, I assume you are looking forward to getting settled at RTP. It seems to be a nice area. Congrats.

Congrats! We just moved here (Morrisville) a few months ago! I'm at Cisco too, we'll have to grab a beer sometime.

Will I be able to find the sign if I go to RTP? Is there still a fountain, or has it been removed? It looks like the old Cisco logo.

If you ever do the Networking Get-togethers in RTP, let me know.
